Miracle's Boys

I absolutely loved Miracle’s Boys.  I read it cover to cover in about one hour.  I couldn’t put it down!  I immediately started to sympathize with the narrator, Lafayette, and was inspired by his older brother Ty’ree.  I liked the way Jacqueline Woodson told the story of each parent’s death through flashbacks.  When I was reading the novel, I kept picturing myself in Ty’ree’s shoes.  I couldn’t imagine trying to raise my younger brother and sister while working fulltime.  In this sense, I was really able to relate to Ty’ree’s character.  Did anyone else feel this way?

Inexcusable

I just finished Inexcusable last night, and I couldn't really put it down. I read almost the entire book in two hours, non-stop. Did anyone else feel that way?
I liked that it was set up with his normal life that he wanted everyone to hear about that gave him a good reputation up against the situation that was happening that ruined his whole "good guy" image. I liked the idea of the inreliable narator that was used. Sometimes i had to re-read passages to get what he was actually saying since he was trying to hide everything that was really going on, but I think that it still worked well.
